7-Weeks-To-Wellness Unveiled

“Can You Really Transform Your Life
In Just Seven Weeks
By Losing Weight, Increasing Energy,
And Reducing Stress?”

“YES! YES! YES!”

I Know It Seems Too Good To Be True, But Hear Me Out! The Reason I Know This Is Possible Is Because I Have Done It Myself. By Making A Few EASY Tweaks To Your Current Routines, You Can Also Have Endless Energy, Shed The Extra Pounds, And Have Less Stress…

Hello my friend,

Please understand that I once stood where you are probably standing today and I know exactly what you are feeling on a very intimate level.

I wonder if you are at the point where you are so frustrated you can taste your disappointment when, once again, you have fallen off track with your diet and can’t seem to tear yourself away from foods drenched in sugar?

Has it been a constant struggle for you to keep the last 10-20 pounds off, bouncing back and forth from wearing the clothes you really want to wear and ones that you can hide in?

When you wake up in the morning is it a challenge to get out of bed, even though you didn’t go out the night before and you went to bed at a decent hour?

Not to mention when 4 o’clock rolls around you can hardly believe it isn’t time to call it a day as you catch yourself nodding off in front of the computer. Needless to say your social life is less than par since you never have energy for anything fun after work.

And let’s get real… you know your friends have schedules that are just as busy as yours, but for some reason your stress levels seem to be through the roof and consume you in a way that doesn’t even touch them.

I have been there before and please believe me when I say to you, there is a way out of it all.

Let me fill you in on how I know what you are feeling, all too well…

Go ahead and click here or on the video image above to hear my personal health struggles and how I overcame them, not to mention exactly how I can help you finally lose weight, gain energy, and reduce stress… it doesn’t have to be overwhelming!

All my love,
Kerry

Healthy Eating On A Budget

There is a huge myth to debunk out there in the Universe. Well, you are right, there are many. The one we want to focus on today though is that it is unthinkable to eat healthy on a budget.

Last week I was a guest on The Cindy Laverty Show (listen to show by clicking the arrow by the title; it’s a good one!) and we were talking everything health. Cindy asked me if eating healthy, while staying in one’s budget, is really possible. My answer is YES! and you can even eat mostly organic at the same time.

Here are some key tips that will take hardly any effort for you to put into place:

Healthology Health Tips On A Budget

  1. Eat seasonally. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season. This reduces the price, they taste better, plus it is easier on the environment that they didn’t have to travel so far!
  2. Get out there to your local farmer’s market. There is a great chance that you can strike up some awesome deals with the local farmers, esp if they see you on a weekly basis.
  3. Shop the perimeter of a store, not the inner aisles where the expensive, processed foods are. You can get a package of decent crackers for about $3.50 where I shop and $2.50 on hummus. Spend $3.99 on a 5lb bag of organic carrots and go with that same hummus and you have enough for multiple snacks and more!
  4. If you can’t buy everything organic, then go conventional for the fruits and veggies that have a thick skin, for example bananas, avocados, and watermelon.
  5. Make your own snacks! Bypass all of those single-serving packages in the stores that add up quickly. Have some fun in the kitchen and put your own love into your food!
  6. Buy in bulk. Get your nuts, flours, and grains from the bulk aisle. Store them in attractive glass jars at home… might as well make your pantry enticing too!
  7. Meal plan! Americans waste 14% of their food on average, which can really add up to some dollars. Plan your meals, make a shopping list, go shopping when you are calm and not hungry, get in and get out.
  8. Make home cookin’ fun again! When you eat most of your meals at home you not only save money, but you actually really do know what you are putting into that sexy bod of yours!

It really is as hard as you want to make it. First and foremost, you must put your health as a top priority on your list. You might as well save some moolah while you do it!

Eeek…The Truth On Sugar

So, we have heard it before, that sugar is the culprit in weight gain, but do you have your facts on how it is the hidden culprit for so much more?

It is scary how sugar can be affecting our energy levels, immune systems, how prone we are to viruses, not to mention digestive issues, just to name a few. This video keeps it easy by breaking the impact of sugar to a few simple facts and a few helpful tips.

So when you are reading those labels, be sure to keep your eyes opening for this list of ingredients that are really just sugar hiding behind a different alias:

-Cane juice crystals
-Cane sugar
-Caramel
-Corn syrup
-Corn syrup solids
-Carob syrup
-Dextran
-Dextrose
-Fructose
-Galactose
-Glucose
-High Fructose Corn Syrup
-Lactose
-Maltodextrin
-Maltose
-Malt syrup
-Sorbitol
-Sucrose
-Treacle

*Helpful tip: sugar often hides behind ingredients that end in -ose.*

The bottom line is to educate yourself on what you are really putting into your body. When you make wise choices on a daily basis, then your waistline will naturally shrink, you will have more energy, you will sleep better, and feel less stress.

80/20 Rule Saves You During Holidays!

Don’t you just love the holidays? I do! I love the company, the parties, the gift giving, and of course the festive food and drinks. But how many of us kicked ourselves the week after on the amount of indulgence we allowed to take place? TODAY I want you to become very aware, from reading this post, that this year you can choose to live out this holiday season differently. I will keep it short and sweet as I know this time of year is crazy busy.

Let’s keep this very simple… stick to the 80/20 rule. What does that mean? That means 80% of the time you are making choices that you know are healthy for you. You are filling your appetizer plate with the vegetables and hummus, versus the cookies and sweets. You are checking in with yourself after the first helping at the dinner table to see if you really need seconds. You are drinking a full glass of water to every glass of alcohol you consume. You are focusing on the people, not the food. You are getting outside and moving your body on a walk. And you are getting enough sleep for goodness sakes!

I do believe that the holidays, and every day, are supposed to be fun and festive as well. I fully understand that this time of year might be the only time grandma makes your most favorite holiday rum cake. So… have some! But have some in moderation. That is where the 20% comes into play. 80% of the time you make the healthier choice, 20% of the time you have a bit more fun. It really doesn’t have to be difficult.

On that note, have a fabulous holiday season! Be present to what is the healthy choice for your body and enjoy!

Warmest wishes,
Kerry

What is Ayurveda and why should I care?

What is Ayurveda and why should I care? It is actually a great question and by the end of this post I know I will have peaked your interest. Ayurveda is loosely translated as “the knowledge of life” and it is a very comprehensive system of health care that focuses on bringing the body, mind, and spirit into balance. In India it is the traditional system of medicine. I was honored to study Ayurveda under the direction of an Indian doctor in Kerala about eight years ago and incorporate much of what I learned into my private holistic practice, as well as my personal daily routine.

Historically it is thought that Ayurveda was created around 5,000 years ago. At this time the belief system in India was that medicine and philosophy were closely intertwined. So, treatment decisions often are based on theory, plus a complete analyzation of the unique individual.

There are three different constitutions, or physiological factors,  that a person can be in Ayurveda- Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. These three states are called doshas. Depending on the individual, a mixture of two or three of these can be present in a person. When a person is out of balance physically, mentally, or spiritually, the doctor will recommend lifestyle remedies that can include exercise, diet, spiritual practices, bodywork, herbs, oils, and spices, to bring them back into balance. These recommendations are based on their dosha(s).

Knowing that my constitution is Pitta Vata, I have made it routine to incorporate appropriate practices to keep me balanced daily. For example, I often eat stewed apples or oatmeal in the morning, very good for a Pitta digestive system. Dahl, a mung bean and rice dish, is something I eat nearly daily. I always use ginger, turmeric, and fennel as these spices are great for my doshas. I get out and move my body regularly with yoga and walking to keep me calm. Not to mention I make sure to get a proper amount of sleep and meditate to keep my mind peaceful.

If you have questions on your dosha or things you should be doing to stay in balance, leave a comment! Would love to hear your feedback and questions.

Blessings,
Kerry

Your body parallels the natural cycle of the world around you, including seasonal patterns.
